Main Features
Dolby Digital® 5.1 Channel Surround Sound Compatibility
delivers all the incredible sound that Hollywood can put on a
DVD to a receiver equipped with a Dolby Digital decoder. Dolby
Digital provides six separate discrete audio channels: left, right
and center front, right and left surround, and a low frequency
subwoofer channel as a listener option. Dolby Digital is the first
perceptual coding scheme designed specifically to code multichannel
digital audio. It divides sizes optimized with respect to the
frequency selectivity of human hearing. This makes it possible
to sharply filter coding noise and reduce data consumption while
delivering dynamic theater quality sound. Unlike Dolby Pro-Logic
surround, Dolby Digital channels are entirely discrete, with five
full frequency (20-20KHz) channels and one low frequency effects
subwoofer (20-120Hz) channel. DVD players with Dolby Digital capability
are also compatible with Pro-Logic surround and two channel stereo
systems. 4X/16X Zoom allows you to get closer to the action by
allowing you to select an area of the screen to enlarge either
X 4 or X 16. Great for figuring out how they do those special
effects. Component Video Outputs Provide the highest level of
video signal transfer quality available today when connected to
televisions equipped with compatible inputs. By dividing the video
signal into component elements, component video outputs deliver
a remarkable improvement in picture detail at maximum resolution,
with unmatched color purity and edge detail. Color blooming and
"hanging dots" are eliminated, and other NTSC artifacts are eliminated.
Dolby Digital® and DTS™ Optical & Coaxial Outputs When connected
to a receiver or amplifier with a Dolby Digital or DTS decoder
through either the optical or coaxial digital outputs, you can
enjoy the phenomenal experience of video through five discrete
full range channels, whether for stunning sound effects or crystal
clear dialogue. 10-bit Video D/A Converter delivers faster video
signal processing than conventional methods, minimizing digital
artifacts for enhanced digital video quality. DTS® Compatibility
allows the DVD player to pickup and output DTS (Digital Theater
System) 5.1 channel audio signals for decoding by DTS-decoding
receivers. The sound of DTS is three-dimensional with a wide dynamic
range and a minimum of compression artifacts.
Audio Features
96 kHz/24-bit Audio D/A Converter Maximizes DVD and CD
audio performance capability, providing smoother, less digitized
transitions, and richer sonic texture. Spatializer N-2-2™ Virtual
Surround Sound provides patented 3-D signal processing to deliver
the ambiance of a 5.1 channel audio system from just two stereo
speakers. If you haven't made the investment yet in a 5.1 channel
surround system for your home theater, Spatializer delivers expansive
wraparound sound effects and a solid center channel from your
stereo system, or for that matter, your stereo TV.
Video Features
4 Slow Forward/Reverse Motion Speeds provides a wide range
of control over your slow image. Great for analyzing the latest
special effects on DVD. 4 Speed Smooth Forward/Reverse Scan Modes
allows you to speed through your programs, forwards or backwards,
for rapid access or review. Still Pause and Frame Advance provides
a clear image when video is stopped and frozen on the main screen
of the television, or advanced one field at a time.

Additional Features
DVD/TV Universal Remote not only provides total control
of your DVD player from the comfort of your couch, but also controls
many key features for most brands of television. EZ Angle allows
you to change the viewing angle of the scene being watched, at
the touch of a button (when available on disc.) EZ Captions is
compatible with CaptionVision (CC) closed caption information
that may be encoded on some discs. EZ Marker allows you to place
up to 5 temporary bookmarks on the disc that make it easy to find
a particular spot again, even if it is in the middle of a track.
Bookmarks are erased when disc is ejected. EZ Repeat will repeat
the entire disc, chapter, segment (A-B) or program, as desired.
Provides the ultimate in playback convenience and flexibility.
EZ Scan lets you take advantage of the shuttle on the remote.
During forward or reverse playback, the shuttle can be used to
increase speed in increments. From Pause, the shuttle can be used
to create variable speed slow motion (forward or reverse.) EZ
Search allows you to search the disc by title, chapter or track,
either by remote control or at the deck! EZ Start is ideal for
smaller children. Inserting a DVD disc automatically causes the
DVD to turn on and play the disc to the end. DVD Parental Control
acts as a rating-level lock, using the ratings embedded in the
DVD itself, so that you may have more control over what types
of movies your family may view on your player.
